Wall Crimes
The terms of the trial.
Short and plain: what you agree to when you send us your wall, and how to take it back.
Last updated 10 October 2026.
What Wall Crimes is
Wall Crimes is a series of short, playful videos by The Walls. You send us a photo of a bare wall in your home; we read it, write a case against the wall (never against you), and show a print from our store hanging on it. We post the video on our accounts, credited to you, and on thewalls.art.
When these terms apply
When you send us a photo for Wall Crimes, in any of these ways:
- On Instagram: you comment on a Wall Crimes post and then send the photo in reply to our DM, or you send a photo or mention us in a story and reply YES when we ask.
- On X: you reply to one of our posts, or mention us, with a photo of your wall.
Sending the photo means you agree to these terms.
What you confirm
- You took the photo, or have the right to share it.
- It shows a space you are allowed to share, such as your own home.
- No people are in it, and nothing personal: no mail, documents, screens with personal details, house numbers or license plates.
- You are at least 18, or have your parent's or guardian's permission.
The permission you give us
You let The Walls use your photo, free of charge and worldwide, to make Wall Crimes videos and images from it (we crop it, change its colors, place art on it, and add words, sound and a voice-over), and to post and share them on our Instagram, X and other social accounts, on thewalls.art, and in marketing for The Walls. We credit you by your handle.
You keep every right to your photo. This permission is not exclusive: you can post and use your photo however you like. It lasts until you take it back (below).
How we choose
We use an AI service (MiniMax) to check that a photo is a safe photo of a wall in a room, to pick the format and the print, and to help write the case. A person can step in at any time, and we may decline any photo. We do not answer explicit or unsafe photos; we delete them. If yours does not work we may tell you why, and point you to our try it on your wall tool instead.
The roast is about the wall. If anything we post about it feels unkind, tell us and we will take it down.
Taking it back
You can ask us to take your wall down at any time:
- DM us REMOVE on Instagram, or reply REMOVE on X.
- Use “Is this your wall?” on its page on thewalls.art.
- Or write to thewallsdotart@gmail.com.
We take it off thewalls.art at once, delete our posts of it and delete your photo and the video from our storage. Shares, reposts and copies made by others before then are out of our hands.
Your data
How we handle your photo, your handle and our messages is in our privacy notice. Instagram and X have their own terms for what you post there.
No purchase needed
You never have to buy anything to take part, and taking part does not make you a buyer, a seller or an artist with us. Wall Crimes is not a contest and there are no prizes.
