Maria Ozer

Maria Ozer is a multidisciplinary artist based in La Paz, Mexico, working across drawing, painting, digital media, and experimental materials. Her work begins with images that refuse to leave her mind. Rather than planning symbols or constructing narratives in advance, she follows her instincts, allowing unexpected details and entire worlds to emerge as she works. Human bodies become landscapes. Faces contain hidden stories. Tiny figures inhabit impossible spaces, while eyes and hands appear in places they shouldn't. Her visual language ranges from intricate, surreal compositions filled with details to minimalist drawings where a single tiny figure and an enormous amount of empty space can tell an entire story. She creates art to bring the images inside her into the physical world, leaving viewers free to discover their own meanings, connections, and stories within each piece.
