“My work blends photography, painting, digital art and AI into surreal, layered compositions that explore femininity, resilience, transformation and inner healing. Inspired by the ocean, nature and the human experience, I weave expressive colour, textures and dreamlike imagery into visual narratives that invite reflection, evoke emotion and celebrate the beauty of growth, impermanence and renewal.”

SolPersonaThere’s a quiet defiance in how I create, an understanding that beauty doesn’t exist separately from struggle, but often because of it. I’m a South African-born, internationally exhibited fine art photographer & multimedia artist, working across photography, painting, digital art, AI, collage & poetry to express the complexities of the human experience. As a two-time cancer survivor, resilience, transformation & healing are intricately woven into my practice. I’m drawn to women as subjects, exploring the balance between strength & vulnerability, softness & power. My figures inhabit surreal, dreamlike worlds that reflect the ongoing journey of self-discovery & renewal. My artistic journey began with traditional photography, & light remains central to how I see the world. Fascinated by the scattering of light at sunrise & sunset, I combine seascapes & cloudscapes with paint, hand-drawn elements, digital manipulation & layered imagery to create expressive compositions. Poetry is also part of my practice, with words & imagery intertwining to express my emotions. In recent years, AI has become a creative collaborator, introducing unexpected possibilities & challenging me to explore the unfamiliar. It has enabled me to expand the ways I tell stories & communicate emotion. My work has been exhibited in Australia, China, South Africa, Netherlands, Germany, Malta, Mauritius, Belgium & the USA. In 2019, I was honoured to receive the award for Best Contemporary Fine Art Photographer in the Middle East & Africa. I was also recognised among 100 photographers to watch in 2025 by National Geographic photographers. Ultimately, I create to explore the beauty of becoming, to honour our capacity for change & to embrace the contradictions that make us human. If someone recognises a part of themselves in my work, then it has found its purpose.
